Commissioned as part of the Calgary YW Hub wayfinding system designed by Entro (https://entro.com/project/ywcacalgary/), this series was created to remind us that everyday women and femmes, from all backgrounds and abilities, are doing important work to move us forward - and the YW Hub is a home for these works where we can centre healing and community.

"The new YW Hub facility provides accessible supports for women and their families that include transitional housing, counselling, language and employment skill training, child development and parenting programming as well as support services to manage the organization." (YW Hub website, https://www.ywcalgary.ca/yw-she-matters/hub-project/)
This business operates on Treaty 6 territory, traditional home to many diverse Indigenous peoples including nêhiyaw/Cree, Dené, Anishinaabe/ Saulteaux, Nakota Isga/Nakota Sioux, Niitsitapi/Blackfoot, and Métis’ peoples. The artist acknowledges their own identity and impact as a settler-colonist, and strives to invest in and support Indigenous rights, arts, and culture individually and collectively.
